"Oh my...Island"
Concept and direction: Juliana Andrade Co-direction, set design (projections) and stage lighting design: Luiza Bernardo Stage lighting design and lighting operation: Luan Borelli Projection and sound operation: Yuri Pereira A dance and aerial performance conceived and directed by Juliana Andrade, which draws on the relationships, memories, and experiences of those who inhabit Ilhabela to reflect on the history and transformations of the island, the pressures of progress, and the importance of preservation. The work traverses different periods, passing through shell middens, slavery, the formation of the Caiçara people, and various experiences and references that are part of the history and identity of the local community. The work was constructed as a collective creation, in a continuous process of exchange between the direction, cast, students, and the Pés no Chão team. In the co-direction, I participated in the construction of the audiovisual language and the integration between projection, stage design, and lighting, as well as the production of video materials. I also assisted and guided the students in editing the projections, which were created collaboratively, incorporating different perspectives and experiences into the work. My role also involved guiding the students in the creation and production of stage props and costumes, in constant dialogue with the director and others involved in the performance. The creation of the work also benefited from the collaboration of the local artists Fidura Cardial and Ana Pires, singers and composers who contributed their original compositions about Ilhabela and prepared the students for a musical scene with body percussion, in a shared process of creation, production, and performance. In addition to the creative and production roles, I also participated as a performer in the versions of the show presented during the 27th Dance & Movement Festival, joining the cast in the contemporary dance choreography *Beira-mar*; *Migração*, in aerial silks; and *Aiaiai... o progresso*, on scaffolding. I was also co-responsible for the stage lighting design, along with Juliana Andrade and Luan Borelli, who also operated the lighting. Yuri Pereira was responsible for the projection and sound operation.
